Poll: Floridians Say More Casino Gambling Wrong Direction For Our State

A survey released today by the College of Arts & Sciences of the University of South Florida finds that 43% of Floridians believe that allowing more casino gambling is the wrong direction for Florida. Only 29% believe it is the right direction for Florida, and 27% had no opinion.

The survey finds that the opposition to expansion of casino gambling is higher by both men and women (40% of men, 47% of women) and in all age demographics (44% of 18 – 34 year-olds, 36% of 35-54 year-olds, 47% of 55-64 year-olds, and 55% of those over 65).

“This survey proves what we have said repeatedly, that the only constituency that believes more gambling is better for Florida are casino owners,” said John Sowinski, President of No Casinos.
